Nestled in the heart of Cape Town, surrounded by the breathtaking Zeekoevlei Lake and Nature Reserve and just 7 minutes from Muizenberg Beach, Gurtrude Adams House offers an exquisitely located, safe, and nurturing “home away from home” for students from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
Designed to support our high school boarders, with separate facilities for boys and girls, our family-style communities create a warm and supportive environment where students can connect, grow, and thrive beyond the classroom.

Boarding Fees & Information
Boarding Fees
- Termly boarding is available to pupils from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
- Please consult the Fee Schedule (download below) for tuition and boarding fees.
- The total cost = Tuition Fee + Boarding Fee.
These fees cover full access to:
- Boarding house facilities
- All meals
- Services provided during the school term
Note: No rebate is offered if a pupil does not make full use of these facilities.
General Charges
Additional costs such as telephone calls, laundry, and outings will be charged separately and added to the school account.
Boarding Life
Gurtrude Adams House provides a safe, caring, and structured environment where boarders can fully enjoy the school’s academic, cultural, and sporting programmes.
Here, pupils create lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories within a nurturing “home away from home.”
DAILY MEALS & DINING
Boarders enjoy balanced, nutritious meals each day.
- Breakfast is prepared and served by the House Mother.
- Lunch is provided at the school canteen using lunch cards issued to all boarding learners.
- Dinner is served in the boarding house dining area each evening at 6:15 pm.
Healthcare Centre
Our Healthcare Centre provides medical support and ensures the wellbeing of boarders throughout the school term, all learners require medical aid.
Weekend Arrangements
- Boarders are regarded as full-time termly boarders, but may go home on weekends if they live close by.
- Those living too far away may go out with friends, provided:
- Duty staff are notified by Wednesday
- A written invitation is received from the host parent
- Written permission is granted by the boarder’s parent
Travel Services
- Shuttle to and from Cape Town International Airport available.
- For boarders traveling to other provinces:
- Shuttle departs Friday afternoons
- Return shuttle on Sunday evenings
- One official boarders’ out weekend per term
- International boarders may remain in-house if needed.
Please note: Boarding houses are closed during school holidays.
Weekend Times
- All boarders leaving for weekends must depart by 4:00 pm on Fridays (unless prior arrangement).
- Return between 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sundays.
